MAKING YOUR MOVIE — USING FLIPSHARE:

Viewing Footage
There are buttons in the upper right corner of the screen where you can choose various ways to view your videos — Show items in list format, Show items in thumbnail format, Show one item in large format.

Deleting Footage
If you want to delete a video from your stored files, select the video you want to delete and then under the 'edit' from the toolbar select the 'delete' option.

Editing Footage
Footage will be loaded in segments — each time you press record, then stop recording, a segment of footage is created — these will load individually. You will create your video using the edited portions of each segment.

  • Select your segment
  • Select the scissors at the bottom right of your segment
  • Select the Video Start / Video Stop arrows to save portions of the segment
  • Select – SAVE AS – to save and name or number that portion of the segment (either in the same folder as your footage, or a folder named for your project)
  • Note: If you click the SAVE button instead the footage will be stored as the edited version only, where you'd have to go back to the camcorder to pull down the original footage if needed.

If you need several portions of the same segment, you can work from the first saved portion, rather than the original segment.

  • Select the saved portion
  • Select the scissors at the bottom right – this will show your first edited portion and the Video Start and Video Stop points from the previous edit
  • Move the Video Start arrow directly next to the Video Stop arrow
  • Move the Video Stop arrow to the end of the segment
  • You are now continuing to edit this segment – move the stop arrow for the next portion you want to SAVE AS and repeat these steps until you are done with the segment.

Creating a Video

At the bottom left of the FlipShare screen you will find the option to CREATE. Select Movie and a new window will open to your left.

  • Select and drag the portions of video that you want to use into this window
  • Put these in order from first to last
  • Follow the prompted directions and create your movie
  • Select SHARE at the top of the window to share your movie
