I am a Real Estate Broker in ABQ. I have formed a not for profit to help the distressed homeowners in ABQ. Investors are making money hand over fist buying foreclosed homes that don't meet FHA guidelines for financing, bringing them up to FHA standards and then reselling them to owner occupant buyers. AHA's goal is to supply the money to the FHA buyers to bring the properties up to FHA financing standards so the homeowner is able to buy the foreclosed home. The average amount of money that is needed per buyer is 2,000. The average amount of money that one sale generates for the local economy is 60,000. I feel like giving the homeowners the equity that investors are taking from the properties will do wonders for everyone in our community.
