What inspired you: San Diego State University's Human Rights in a Global Perspective (POL S 380) students are proud to present the World Premiere of FILM IT FORWARD SAN DIEGO STATE!, a documentary feature film showcasing their semester-long project to make a difference through "micro-activism". The film culminates the great work of 116 students carrying out 22 unique and distinct social cause-related "micro-acts", benefitting communities in San Diego and beyond. Each act was devised, planned, crowd-funded and completed by these students throughout the entire Spring 2011 semester. Their objective was to find out how people empowered with tools such as a Flip camera, a way to crowd fund or gather resources, and an online video community (tgo.tv) can improve communities and generate some smiles along the way.
What I learned: The result is this film, which inspires us to never forget that small-scale actions ripple out to make a global impact.
