What inspired you: The Human Rights class at San Diego State University is asking Ellen Degeneres to attend the screening of our AMAZING documentary on Micro-Activism: May 10, 2011 at SDSU. She will see what happened when TGO teamed up with Prof. Garrison's class to take the power of human rights directly to the streets! "Be a lion for a day..."
What I learned: We were inspired by the phrase: "It is better to be a lion for a day than to be a lamb for a thousand days..." We made the jump from learning, talking, and getting passionate about human rights to direct action, micro-action! We took to the streets of San Diego with limited funds, unlimited ideas, and a flip camera to make an impact at the grassroots level. We found out that we did not have to be rock stars or celebrities to start a ripple effect. Anyone can be a lion for a day!
